North Carolina raised in the city of Wendell, I attended three great schools of Wake County; Wendell Elementary School, Zebulon Middle School and finally graduated from East Wake High School. Shortly after, I attended Wake Technical Community College and then was accepted into East Carolina University where I earned my Bachelors degree in English Education.
After earning my undergraduate degree , I worked internationally teaching English in different provinces of Mexico and China; virtually and face to face. With my teaching experience within and out of the United States , it is clear to me that what we need to implement in our schools.
Cultural diversity recognition within our schools curriculum and building design is essential to preserving and being proud of our nation, and teaching true American history. Also including vocational education options and real world, problem- based learning experiences for students wanting to reach advanced academic levels. Targeting real world problems within their subject of choice; in efforts to preserving our future and being able to compete academically and on a globalized level
As a teacher myself , It will always be my continuous obligation to advocate for adequate teachers’ pay. Increasing teachers pay will assist in recognizing and uplifting our quality teachers, in efforts to supporting teachers economically and within their areas of focus ; advocating for teacher retention in our schools.
Living though an error of public school massacres, I will continuously ensure that public school safety and security be our top priority in protecting our children, staff and the future of our Nation from harm and violence.
With the outbreak of COVID-19 , It is without a doubt that we are no longer living in a world of clean, sufficient, air. Witnessing the continued impacting effects that COVID-19 continues to have on our children academically, I am here to ensure green energy and clean air solutions be available to all children and staff , in efforts to protect our schools and homes.
Your contribution will enable us to support our mission in electing Dajma Livingston for Board of Education , ensuring that our children have a safe and prosperous educational experience.
